Your DEALER Might Be Spying on You , and Charged You for It!! (You MAY Want to Remove This Device)

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

Did your car dealership install a GPS tracker before you even bought the vehicle? In this exposé, we reveal how IKON Technologies GPS devices are being pre-installed at over 500 dealerships across the country — and how unsuspecting customers are often charged $699 or more for a system designed primarily to benefit the dealer, not the driver.

These devices often start tracking the vehicle days or even weeks before purchase. In my case, I was able to view GPS logs dating back nearly a month before I bought my truck — including detailed routes and stops at private residences from previous test drives. This raises serious privacy concerns and questions about how much access the dealership retains after the sale.

While marketed as a theft recovery or geofencing feature, these devices often provide little direct value to consumers. Meanwhile, dealers use them as free lot management tools and receive your driving data to market services. Even IKON’s own leadership has admitted the system is built to help dealers mine data, not protect consumers.

If you’re financing a new or used vehicle, it’s critical to ask if there’s a GPS tracker installed, whether it can be removed, and who has access to the data it collects. This video explains what to look for, how to detect these systems, and why you may want to remove one from your vehicle immediately.

This isn’t just about vehicle tracking — it’s about consumer rights, informed consent, and protecting your privacy from hidden surveillance sold as a “feature.”
