World's FIRST magnetic levitation train on RAILS - Is this the train of the future?
Published at : 23 Dec 2025
A couple of months ago this video went viral on instagram: In it, a gray box rides on rails. Or rather: it floats over them. This year, the Italian company Ironlev presented a magnetic levitation train that works with permanent magnets! It is the world's first magnetic levitation train to run on existing tracks at an average speed of 70 km/h. An upcoming test vehicle is even expected to reach 200 km/h. The company says: “Ironlev technology will be the gold standard for the trains of the future. How the technology works and whether we really have a new gold standard here or just a very good advertising campaign, that's what we're talking about now.
