Tektronix PS2521G triple power supply repair and upgrade

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

My great Tektronix PS2521G is suddenly blowing many of its fuses. We take advantage of the repair to upgrade a few things too.

Update: viewer Jim Flanagan provided the ultimate solution for the "on" LED replacement: don't replace it. Instead, make it blink! He reversed engineered the firmware, then modified it to make the LED blink when the power supply is on. You'll need to burn a new 32k EPROM to replace the original one. Works wonders, I have now done the upgrade on both of my power supplies. Details on my website: https://www.curiousmarc.com/instruments/tek-ps2521g-power-supply
