The proposal is for a prism shaped building with the corners are raised to create visual connections from the landscape into the gallery and from the interior out to the natural surroundings.
The interior space is a flexible gallery with layers of displays to explore. The exhibitions are primarily about the surrounding park outside the building. The gallery is naturally lit from above in the daytime by large skylights. After viewing the models and images, visitors can move up to the roof garden above by the exterior courtyard stair or a long ramp. The rooftop terrace has views of the site in all directions.
The building is made of a concrete structure that touches the site at three points. The finishes are Cor-ten steel and glass.
The prism was a project L2ds designed in 2011.
