In this start-to-finish project, the team constructs a 28 m² underground home using traditional techniques, reclaimed materials, and sustainable design inspired by classic Hobbit architecture.
Watch how dry forest logs are harvested, cleaned, and treated before being set on stone bases to form strong walls. See the shaping of massive curved arches, each laminated and fitted to hold the heavy soil roof. Layer by layer, the builders add timber boards, vapor barriers, insulation, bitumen, drainage pipes, and handcrafted flashing to protect the bunker for decades.
