This project transforms a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W into a fully offline GPS map viewer with a Waveshare E-Paper display. It uses a GPS module to track your real-time location and displays it on a locally stored map — with no need for internet access.
Map tiles are preloaded in .mbtiles format and rendered directly on the E-Paper screen using Python. The system updates the map only when movement exceeds a user-defined threshold, making it ideal for low-power, off-grid navigation.
Whether you're hiking, biking, or exploring the outdoors, this project gives you a minimal, power-efficient, and internet-free way to stay oriented.
