I found this Storm Responder Generator on OfferUp for $100. The seller said it had less then 50 hours on the engine when it ran out of oil in threw the rod. The original engine block seemed to survive. My hope was to rebuild it until I found some damage at the bottom of the cylinder. Although still rebuildable, I looked online for any other engines that could be used instead. I quickly found a better quality Vanguard engine and decided to use that instead. The excitement was short lived when I fired the engine up and heard a loud knock. I assumed it was the connecting rod, but found out the counter balancer timing was off a tooth and the balancer counterweight was striking the crankshaft counterweight. Should be an easy fix. Lets finish repairing the Vanguard engine. When complete, the rebuilt generator will be better then it was before.
