I like my HP5334B frequency counter even though it is limited to just 100MHz (without the third input with prescaler option). It handles most of what I need. The only real shortcoming is that it has only a standard crystal oscillator as time base which needs re-trimming every couple of months. In this video I finally put an ovenized crystal oscillator into the counter. The counter is already prepared for adding an HP OCXO module which was an option I can't afford. Instead it had to be done on the cheap but successfully with an ubiquitous OCXO module from eBay.
