Willamette Creek & Surrounds // Tassie hardcore 4x4ing at its best

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

Our Wet Boot 4x4 Heroes find themselves in the thick of it on a 3 day journey in the depths of Tassie's Southern forests. A wet night spent at a magic hut by the river led them to tackling the infamous Willamette Creek Track and Weld River Track. Not getting off the tracks till late and seeking some dry ground, they ended up at Rivers Edge camp ground where they constructed the most incredible tarp/tent city to stay warm for the night. The following morning they journeyed across mountains and rivers to land themselves at Martin the Great's weldie farm for some mid journey maintenance. The remaining heroes said their goodbyes and headed to Old Beach for a tropical freezing swim and a warm night's sleep. The last day of their trek was spent in Murdunna, where they woke early to watch the sunrise over the ocean, only to be met by some young local legends camping in the area. They ventured into carpet track which is no longer a very viable track and more a bottomless creek. After making it half way and realising it wasn't possible, they turned around and our heroes went their own directions back to their families.
