What On Earth Were The Conodonts?

Some marvellously weird animals have lived on our planet throughout the history of life. One such example of a truly bizarre lineage of animals are the Conodonts, a mysterious group of organisms with an extensive fossil record. Yet, we didn’t even know what they looked like, or indeed what sorts of animals they were, until the 1980s.
