We Bought a Dozer That “Looked Fine”…Then Found This

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

We bought a batch of dozers at an online auction, but this Dresser TD8H has seen better days. When we tried to move it, the front idler was completely locked up, dragging the track. After fighting the undercarriage, we found the hydraulic cylinders were gushing oil and needed a full rebuild.

We also finally unbox and test out the massive 290lb vise from Fireball Tool to help us tear these cylinders apart. Join the crew in the shop as we diagnose, fix, and get this old dozer back to work.
