A super heavy transport weighing 706 tonnes is escorted by police through an old English town. Watch as the extra long 280 wheeled vehicle has to navigate a tight corner before proceeding on with the help of three different trucks. The abnormal load is currently heading to the Walpole Grid Stability Facility in nearby Norfolk.

Video split into several parts due to length of footage:

Allelys are transporting the Siemens Energy generator cradled within a Goldhofer Faktor 5 girder frame trailer. The tractor-trailer combination is being pulled by a newly acquired and specially built Trojan 8870, and two MAN TGX tractors. The combination totals 89 metres in length, 5.29m in width, 5.19m in height, and has a total weight of 706 tonnes. While the load itself weighs 365 tonnes. The mega-load will arrive at the Walpole Grid Stability Facility on Sunday, 13 July, after spending the week resting in a nearby village.

Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, and Lincolnshire Police Roads Policing Units escorted the wide load from Sutton Bridge to Walpole via Freedom Bridge in Wisbech (video coming soon). Several police cars and motorcycles were used to shut down roads as the oversized load moved. Manchetts used a recovery vehicle to move cars blocking the route.

The Trojan 8870 is a heavily modified Alvis Unipower, built in the UK in 2015. The 8x8 ballasted prime mover was specifically designed by Abnormal Load Engineering (ALE) for heavy haulage, prior to being acquired by Mammoet. Allelys then purchased the vehicles, putting them into service in spring 2025 to be used with their MAN TGX tractors. The Trojan is powered by a Volvo Penta engine, and produces 700hp.
