We rode our motorcycles to one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in Japan — an active volcano that’s known as the motorcycle mecca of the country. Mt. Aso is one of the few places in the world where you can actually ride into the caldera of a living volcano.
The journey took us through lush mountain scenery that quickly transformed into a dramatic volcanic landscape. As we got closer to the crater, the environment changed completely — black volcanic rock, dry vegetation, and a raw, powerful atmosphere.
We were lucky: the volcano was safe and open, and we rode all the way to the active crater — a rare and unforgettable experience.
We also explored the famous Kenny Road, named after MotoGP legend Kenny Roberts, and visited a stunning viewpoint overlooking the caldera — where an entire town lives within the rim of this massive volcano.
