SuperSloMotion Setup and Capture of at 15A Circuit Breaker Tripping
Published at : 23 Dec 2025
We use the cell phone trigger module that we made in the last video with a timer sequencer that we discuss in this video to capture the what append in the few tens of milliseconds it takes for a circuit breaker to trip when subjected to almost ten times its 15A rating.
Parts:
Time Delay Relays: I used the two pole versions DH48S-2ZH or DH48S-2Z from Aliexpress. The single pole version DH48S-1Z would be fine too and offers some timing controls. Be sure to get the control voltage correct for you use: I used 24VAC, but they come in a range of voltages from 12V to 380V AC or DC or some that work on both AC and DC. BE SURE THE REALY COMES WITH SOCKET! If not order some separately. I git mine from Aliexpress.
Contactor: I used a Packard C240A 2 Pole 40 Amps 24VAC Coil Contactor. If you search for contactor on Amazon you will get numerous options. Be sure its CSA or UL approved.
Power Relay for the small 120V control box: I used a CIT Model# J115F31C24VACS 40A 24VAC Coil Single Pole Single Throw relay from Digikey.
Boxes, banana plug hardware etc: any generic types work. Be sure the box is deep enough to hold the long Time Delay Relays.
