Subfloor Install and Water Tank Framing - Skoolie Build Series

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

After painting our bus interior with a rust resistant primer, it was time to install our insulation and subfloor. We glued 2" thick InSoFast Insulation to the floor of our bus and then glued and screwed 1/2' OSB to the InSoFast to create our subfloor. Before we could finish the insulation at the rear of the bus, I needed to weld the metal water tank supports to the floor of the bus.

We are a husband and wife team that loves to take on hard projects. We finished our bus project after 2 years of hard work and are now enjoying life on the road. We plan to travel for a year or two more while we prepare to homestead in northern Idaho. Come join us as we document our journey. Our goal is to inspire you and your fellow viewers to go out and life life the Hard Way.
