Solo Camping Off-Grid at a Yellow Post Campsite | Big Bear, CA

I kicked off another solo camping adventure deep in Holcomb Valley, Big Bear, California — this time at a Yellow Post campsite tucked off an off-road forest trail. Surrounded by tall pines, cool mountain air, and the quiet sounds of nature, this area of Big Bear continues to be one of my favorite peaceful places to reset and slow down.
After setting up camp, I hiked a beautiful section of the Pacific Crest Trail, taking in the mountain views and enjoying the quiet stretch of trail. Later that evening, I fired up the Tembo Tusk Skottle and cooked up a simple dinner before settling in by the fire pit to watch a movie and enjoy the stillness of the forest.
The next morning, I made coffee, eggs, and sausage as the sun filtered through the trees — the perfect calm start to the day. This trip reminded me once again how being outdoors helps clear my mind, refresh my energy, and reconnect me with what matters.
