Simply and easily. Homemade blacksmith's forge from old iron. For home use

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

Hi!!! In this video I tried to make a forge, I need a forge to use at home. On it I will forge knives, axes and all sorts of small items for the interior. And also this forge can be used for cooking delicious food. How do you like this forge?

For a long time I have been engaged in the manufacture of exclusive things made of metal and over time I began to lack a small forge for using it at home. I had some old metal and the advice of experienced blacksmiths. It seemed to me that it was easy and simple to make a forge. You can see how it turned out for me in this video. Do you like my work?

Listening to the advice of blacksmiths. I took old metal from my shed, cleaned it of rust and went to the store to buy heat-resistant bricks, but you can use simple ones, you’ll just have to replace them with new ones more often as they will wear out faster. I laid out a square of brick, as shown at the beginning of the video, this is enough for a standard forge, but I need a forge for hardening long products, so I extended it by two more bricks. Having decided on the size of the forge, I was able to cut the metal into the lengths I needed. The following video shows the sequence in which I assembled this forge with a welding machine. When the main work with the metal was completed, I painted the product with heat-resistant paint. I cut the bricks at an angle for ease of pouring coal, and to avoid overheating of the bottom metal plate, I also laid bricks cut to the required size. To supply air to the forge, I used a blower you can use any device that creates an air flow. When I first started it, the forge performed very well and did not cost me much money at all. And thanks to the heat from the brick, you can cook very tasty food on it... I was satisfied with the result of this work and I hope that you liked it too.
