In this video, I restore an early 20th-century mechanical cookie machine, bringing it back to life step by step. This antique speculaas machine was heavily worn, rusted, and no longer functional, but through a detailed restoration process, every part was carefully disassembled, cleaned, repaired, and remade where necessary, before being reassembled to work again.
The machine was originally used to produce traditional Dutch Christmas cookies and features an unusually complex, fully mechanical design with nearly 100 individual parts. Throughout the restoration, I focus on preserving original details while restoring smooth operation and reliability.
This was a complex restoration with a lot of mechanical work involved, and many parts had to be repaired or remade. At the end, the machine was tested to see it running again.
If you enjoy restoration videos, antique machine restorations, or satisfying mechanical rebuilds, this project shows the complete transformation from start to finish. Watching this old machine return to working condition is both relaxing and rewarding, especially seeing a piece of bakery history come back to life.
