Stories where answers arise from the most unexpected places are not uncommon in the heavy transport industry. Over the decades, many of the most enigmatic trucks, both for their qualities and the stories behind them, have emerged from unexpected contexts, from prototypes that never prospered to specialized developments manufactured to order.
A clear example of this was the strange time when a massive truck, capable of pulling entire locomotives, came out of the doors of a trailer factory. The one known as the Roadrunner, developed and manufactured by the special trailer company Peerless, arose as a drastic measure to meet the needs of the then known as Bigge Dirige Company, who obtained one of the most powerful and cutting-edge vehicles of the moment.
