Man Transforms Abandoned Bus into a Luxury Home! (Start to Finish by @guvencsyn)
-----------------------------------------------
Meet Güvenç Sayan, the mastermind behind one of the most jaw-dropping DIY projects you’ll ever see—a full transformation of an old, beat-up bus into a stunning mobile home! What started as a rusty shell is now well on its way to becoming a rolling paradise. With plans to explore all of Turkey, travel the world, and maybe even go interstellar (who knows!), Güvenç is turning this dream ride into a fully functional, off-grid home.
He kicks things off by stripping the bus down to its bones—removing every seat, rail, and panel with tools like crowbars, grinders, and drills. Once gutted, he reimagines the interior from scratch. The old windows? Gone. They’re replaced or covered for better insulation and layout flow. Wall and ceiling panels are removed, exposing the structure so he can upgrade the wiring and insulation.
The flooring comes up too—not just to replace it, but to run wiring, add rubber mats for soundproofing, and finally lay down beautiful wooden parquet that instantly warms up the space. He rebuilds structural elements using welding and new metal profiles, reinforcing weak areas and reshaping parts to fit the new layout: bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and storage.
Waterproofing is key, especially for the bathroom. Güvenç uses fiberglass and resin to seal the toilet walls, ensuring no leaks ruin his hard work. For plumbing, he installs a clean water tank and a black water tank for waste—both with proper fittings, seals, and ventilation for hygiene and convenience. He even fits a compact sink right next to the toilet to maximize space.
To power his home on the road, he installs two solar panels on the roof and builds a cozy rooftop terrace from Iroko wood—perfect for sunrise coffee or sunset stargazing. A chimney and wood stove keep things warm, and to top it off, he adds ambient ceiling lighting for a luxurious vibe.
Interior walls are lined with custom-cut 6mm plywood sheets, tailored to the bus’s curves, and all wood gets a coat of protective varnish to preserve it. The exterior? It gets a slick, bold yellow paint job with aerodynamic touches and rust-proof reinforcements to handle any weather.
From clever storage and foldable furniture to a full kitchen setup and durable finishes, Güvenç has thought of everything. This isn’t just a vanlife project—it’s a mobile masterpiece built with heart, hustle, and serious skill. Be sure to check out @guvencsyn for the full journey. Trust us—you’ll be inspired to start your own!
