Hello TTI Family! In today’s episode, we follow the remarkable craftsmanship of Fedya from Lesnoy Offline as he completes three impressive bushcraft building projects in the heart of the forest. His calm precision, respect for natural materials, and thoughtful approach turn a challenging cliffside location into the foundation of a sturdy, beautifully crafted shelter.
The build begins with careful terrain preparation. Because the structure sits on the edge of a cliff, Fedya constructs a strong platform that blends traditional bushcraft techniques with reclaimed wood and natural elements. Once the site is secure, he builds stone piers to support the cabin. Each flat stone is selected and stacked meticulously to create level columns capable of carrying the weight of thick wooden beams. These pillars lift the cabin above ground level, protecting it from moisture and stabilizing it on uneven terrain.
With the stone supports in place, Fedya installs heavy beams across the piers to form the main frame. After that, he assembles the floor, aligning each wooden plank tightly to avoid shifting — especially important on a cliffside build. Additional cross-beams beneath the floor add rigidity and act as anchors for the upcoming wall posts.
Next, he raises the vertical supports and secures them with metal brackets, forming the skeleton of the walls. For the roof, Fedya constructs an elevated work platform to safely reach higher sections. He then builds strong triangular trusses that shape the A-frame roof. Once installed, he covers the frame with overlapping wooden planks, creating a durable barrier against wind and rain.
Using the same overlapping technique, Fedya clads the upper walls with long wooden boards. The lower walls, however, are reinforced with carefully stacked stones filled with insulating moss — a classic dry-stone walling method that adds both strength and character.
To waterproof the roof, he installs a layer of bitumen roll roofing, then blends the cabin into the landscape using mud and moss for natural insulation and camouflage.
His woodworking skills shine through in the furniture and fixtures. From an outdoor deck to handcrafted chairs and a rustic door, every piece is shaped with accuracy and often finished with a blowtorch to bring out the wood grain and increase durability. He fits windows with custom frames, installs a safe stove system, and adds thoughtful details like a carved coat hanger.
Fedya completes the cabin with a protective paint coating, reinforced beams, and beautiful stone pathways, creating a shelter that feels both organic and timeless. The finished structure stands as a tribute to nature, craftsmanship, and resourceful building.
