Land They’d Never Seen Before | Forestry Mulching Transformation

This forestry mulching project in Torrington, CT revealed a section of the property the homeowners had never even seen before. Years of thick brush and tangled growth had made it completely inaccessible — until now. As the work progressed, I cleared away old brush piles and opened up the land for the first time.

Partway through, I clipped a tree I couldn’t see and snapped a hydraulic hose on the excavator — one of those real-world moments that can happen on any job. I got a new hose made, repaired it right there in the field, and got back to work. By the end of the day, the once-hidden land was fully cleared and ready to explore.

Using my Kubota KX040 excavator equipped with an Indeco IMH4 forestry mulcher, I wrapped up another project that shows the full scope of what forestry mulching can do — from unexpected challenges to a clean, satisfying finish.
