I built a 1S 18650 pack… flight time was ridiculous (3 inch 1s)

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

I finally built my own 1S 18650 pack and put it through a full real-world test. This video covers the entire process: how I sourced the materials, soldered the pack, wrapped it, and mounted it...and then I flew it twice: once in hilariously heavy wind and once in perfect calm conditions to see the true flight time potential.

If you want to skip around, use the timestamps below to jump straight to the build, the flight tests, or the final thoughts. but if u watch the full thing 😘

All of the parts used in this build (frame, motors, AIO, tools, battery, connectors, etc.) are listed below if you want to try this yourself!

And a huge shoutout to @87nostab for inspiring this build. go check out his channel and give him some support. His long-range 1S experimentation is next level.

01:16 How to source correct parts
02:14 Soldering starts here
02:40 Tin the wires and battery pads
03:18 Tin the connector and attach wires
05:35 Heat shrink the wires
05:56 Solder the connector WITH wires to the battery
06:50 Heat shrink (or electrical tape) the entire battery
07:10 Maiden flight (25kts wind, landed too early)
