In this video, I'm looking at the LD2410 mmWave human body proximity sensor. The sensor operates at 24GHz and is typically used to detect human presence.
Opposing to how usual PIR sensors work, the biggest advantage of this sensor is that it can also detect human presence even when the person is not moving so we can detect someone sleeping in a bed for example, or sitting on a couch.
In the video, I explore how we can read the sensor data via serial and how we can interact with it through an ESP32 to control output and an LED as an example.
