Where were Volkswagen Golf Mk2 made?
The very first MK2 Golf rolled off the production line in September of 1983 and the last one was produced in 1992. The car was designed by Herbert Schäfer and wasn't just produced in Germany. Golf production plants were also in Belgium, Yugoslavia, the United States, Austria, South Africa and Mexico.
How many VW Golf Mk2 were made?
In total, over 6.3 million Volkswagen Golfs were produced. Over 800,000 of these cars were produced in 1989.
What about VW Jetta A2 production?
The Volkswagen Jetta (A2) is a compact car, the second generation of the Volkswagen Jetta and the successor to the Volkswagen Jetta (A1). The Mark 2 series is the longest running Jetta so far. Introduced to Europe in early 1984 and to North America in 1985, the second generation Jetta proved to be a sales success for Volkswagen.
