Fixed my old 2004 Craftsman 919.167311, 30 gallon, 6-peak HP, air compressor with simple $10 part, that kept tripping breakers at startup and after running for a few minutes. I used wrong sized run capacitor last time (50uF vs. original 40uF). It is important to use same sized capacitor since the motor and system are trying to mimic a 3 phase induction field, so the balanced magnetic field using the capacitor is very important. The wrong size will cause imbalance and overheat the motor windings, causing the overcurrent and trip breakers.
