In this video, David Odell walks through a front porch concrete project in Laughlin, Nevada, showing how to remove bushes, work around plumbing, and prep for a stamped concrete pour in a tight space. Using a three-foot mini skid steer, we’re able to access areas most equipment can’t reach and pull the bushes roots and all in one clean move.
David explains how to safely identify and work around the water main and irrigation lines, adjust clean-outs to proper elevation, and prep the area for long-term performance. This side of the house receives a random stone stamped finish with a clear liquid release, while the opposite side was previously finished with a broom texture.
You’ll also see tool choices for big rock vs pea gravel, underpinning techniques under existing flatwork, joint layout to control cracking, and how stamping patterns are corrected when mats don’t line up perfectly. Plenty of real-world problem solving here—from leaking hose bibs to working clean against freshly painted walls.
If you’re considering a stamped concrete porch, patio, or entryway, this video shows the process step by step, including what to watch out for and why certain decisions matter long-term.
