How To Build a DIY Condenser Mic That Sounds Great

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

I've been wanting to try this for a while. I bought a condenser mic capsule off Amazon for $21 and built it into a 1590B pedal enclosure. You'll also need a 1.0 µf capacitor, a 10 KΩ resistor, and a 2N5457 J-FET. The mic sounds surprisingly good.

This is the capsule I used: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DS4S1Q8L
