Welcome to the first video in this series on the failure and restoration of a 1965 built Gardner 6LXB 180 diesel engine. This engine has been removed from the boat it powers after it had repeatedly caused the owner issues and later failed with no oil pressure and a bottom end knock after only 80 hours of use. Sent to us by the owner to investigate the damage, cause of failure and to work out if the previous engine builder had done the work they had implied had been done. Follow us as we take a deep look at some forbidden glitter, incorrect parts and incorrect assembly.
