Fred Whitton 2025 | Sub-7 Attempt… Did I Do It?

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

I went into Fred Whitton 2025 with one clear goal: go sub-7 hours.
I’d trained hard, had the plan dialled… but when it came to the ride? Things did not go to plan.

🥵 The weather was Scorching
🔥 I missed my support hand-up
🥵 I ran out of food and water for nearly 20 miles
💥 I bonked hard and hit a serious low

But somehow, after all that… I still beat every one of my PRs from last year. I got up Hardknott, Wrynose and Blea Tarn without unclipping — and found the grit to finish strong.

In this video, I take you through the ride as it happened — the highs, the lows, the real moments on the bike, and what it’s like to chase a big cycling goal and fall just short.

🚴‍♂️ Bike: Specialized Tarmac SL8 S-Works
