Fixing The Boom Lift's 4 Wheel Drive System and Other Stuff.

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

My lift gets stuck way too easy, so I fix the hydraulic drive plus several other things. First I disconnect the dysfunctional hydraulic motor, cap the lines, and find it has more power. Then I fix the water temperature gauge which is much easier said than done. Finally I install a new spring brake assembly returning the vehicle to 4 wheel drive.

For those wondering, McClinch is just the name of a company that owned the lift in the past. McClung is the name of a mechanic who I turn to to bounce ideas off of, and he has given me lots of advice on fixing this lift. We have joked that it should say McClung instead of McClinch because of all the help he has given me. Thanks Mr. McClung!
