First Warm Night in a Riverside Wooden Cabin | Wood Stove & 100-Year-Old Windows
Published at : 23 Dec 2025
I’ve completed the interior insulation of the wooden cabin I built by myself beside a stream, with a loft used as a sleeping area. In this episode, I opened a chimney outlet in the roof and built the chimney.
To protect the wooden wall from the wood stove, I fixed flat, marble-like stones that I collected from the surrounding area onto the wall. Since the adhesive took a long time to set, I drilled and nailed some of the stones directly into the wooden wall. The result is both functional and naturally aesthetic.
I also restored nearly one-hundred-year-old windows sourced from a village and adapted them to fit the wooden cabin. After installing the wood stove, I made significant progress in preparing the cabin for winter.
For the first time, I spent the night in truly warm conditions inside the cabin. It was so warm that I slept until morning without covering myself at all.
There is still a lot to do, but this episode made me feel that the cabin has finally become a livable place. Thank you for watching.
