Compiling XRDP Linux from Source Code (Remote Desktop for Linux) Installation.

In this tutorial we will install XRDP from source code and demonstrate how to compile it yourself under Linux. In this episode we are using Slackware Linux however the concepts of downloading, installing and using XRDP remains the same and will help you become familiar with XRDP and using it to connect remotely to other computers on your network or outside of your network from another location, for instance a work or office computer as a technician.

The concepts covered will help you understand the various error log files to look at if something goes wrong and we will connect using Windows Remote Desktop and then show an example of connecting from KALI LINUX to the remote desktop server.

In this video I am using an affordable 36 dollar Dell Wyse thin client that was converted into a Linux Server, since it is a cheap solution and uses very little power, you may be interested in looking into one to install linux on and practice various techniques in an affordable manner.

In the video we use ./configure, make and make install commands and I hope that it will help you gain an understanding of what XRDP for linux is and how you can benefit from using it to connect to remote desktops and get your work done.
