I wanted a tall, slim, and smart-controlled light bar for my setup, but instead of buying something off the shelf, I built my own. This custom LED light bar is 3D printed, powered by a Seeed Studio LED driver board, and controlled with an ESP32-C3.
In this video, I walk through the design process, challenges I ran into, and how I got it working with WLED and Home Assistant. The total cost came in under $25, a fraction of the price of a Philips Hue Play Light Bar, and the best part is that it’s fully customizable.
