Did GE Cync DIY cabinet lights improve my kitchen?

GE Cync's Matter cabinet lights were one of the products I was super excited to see at this year's CES, but now that they are released, do they live up to my hopes and dreams? And can something like these cabinet lights help my basic and boring kitchen? It's all exciting but I hit a couple unexpected challenges I need to explain along the way.
