Cooking All Day Without Power | 100 Year Old Fireless Cooker

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

We tried out a new (to us) cooking method, a 1920s fireless cooker.

While chores got done and the day unfolded, the cooker held the heat and finished the meal on its own. By evening, dinner was ready.

Before slow cookers, before electricity reached many homes, families used tools like this to stretch fuel, save time, and keep food hot while life carried on. It’s a simple idea — insulation and patience — but it still works just as well today!
