Closest Thing to Heaven: Ride the Sky Elevator to China’s Paradise
Published at : 23 Dec 2025
I think I’ve truly found the place closest to heaven!
This time, I’ve come to Wuzhi Peak in Mangshan, Chenzhou, Hunan. Note that the two spots, “Mangshan” and “Wuzhi Peak,” are connected, but I highly recommend Wuzhi Peak—it’s absolutely like a fairyland!
Also, there’s an amazing mode of transportation here: a 128-meter vertical elevator! It’s incredible—how did they even manage this? Truly a miracle!
You hardly need to climb this mountain at all, as the vertical elevator takes you all the way, allowing you to fully enjoy the heavenly scenery. By the way, if you come here, make sure to spend a night—watch the dazzling stars at night, and the next morning you can enjoy a breathtaking sunrise. Absolutely amazing!
Since it’s located deep in a remote mountain area, you need to take a designated bus from the city to get here. Renting a car is also recommended
