In this video, we climb Japan’s highest and most iconic mountain - Mount Fuji (富士山) - via the Yoshida Trail, starting from the 5th Station. Located on the Yamanashi side, this is the most popular and accessible route to the summit, with mountain huts, rest stops, and well-marked trails along the way.
The hike begins at the Fuji-Subaru Line 5th Station, situated at around 2,300 metres above sea level. From there, we make the long ascent through volcanic terrain, reaching the summit of Yoshidaguchi Peak at 3,710 metres (the highest peak is Kengamine at 3,775.6m which was closed at the time of recording). After soaking in the views, we descend back to the 5th Station and return by bus to Mount Fuji Station.
