Build Your Own 2-Conductor TS Instrument Cable for Guitars and More

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

In today's video, we're going to show you how to make your own guitar cable using a right angle Neutrik plug and shielded, 20 AWG 26 strand guitar cable. We're making a 2-connector (TS) cable with a 1/4" plug.

The cable we're using is sold by the foot, so you can order the perfect length and cut it to make as many cables as you need. Learning to make your own cables is a great way to save money and easily get cables at the perfect length with the right connectors. It's also a great soldering project for beginners.
