I picked up a super cheap logic analyzer from AliExpress expecting it to be a pile of junk, what I found absolutely blew me away! Despite a few difficulties finding the necessary software and drivers I was able to probe all kinds of digital signals attached to an ESP32. In the video, I use Pulseview to sniff an I2C bus connection between an ESP32 C3 mini and BME280 temperature and humidity sensor, it works wonderfully well! I also explore the 1-wire protocol between the ESP32 and a Dallas DS18B20 temperature probe, using ChatGPT to interpret the recorded data I was able to determine the measured temperature simply by sniffing the single data line!
Overall, it’s an extremely versatile device and I can’t believe I waited so long to pick one up!
The cheapest seller on AliExpress that I could find is linked below; however, the device looks slightly different from the one I used in the video, it also has only 55 reviews, so buyer beware:
TZT USB Logic Analyzer 24MHz 8 Channel 24M/seconds Logic Analyzer
