Adding a Parallel Printer Port to an Android Phone

Published at : 23 Dec 2025

Since when did they remove parallel printer ports from smartphones!? Or, did they ever have them?

In any case, Clem has a dot matrix printer he found at the flea market, and he wants to be able to print to it from his phone! So he builds a piece of custom hardware to add a printer port to his Android phone via its USB-C port. He designs an Arduino Uno powered prototype, transfers the concept to custom hardware, covers some bumps in the process, and writes some code to make it all work https://bit.ly/3mf3y1L
