In this video, I’ll show you how I created a live, isometric-style 3D floorplan for my Home Assistant dashboard, using nothing but ChatGPT, DALL·E, and a bit of Photoshop.
Inspired by the wireframe aesthetic pioneered by Madelena and highlighted in a Reddit post by /u/tozim, I set out to recreate the look, without using any CAD or 3D modeling tools. Just a ChatGPT and creative prompting. (Plus a bit of photoshop to tidy up the renders)
Along the way, I’ll show how to:
Take and prepare photos for stylistic rendering
Use ChatGPT to generate DALL·E images for clean floorplans
Create image variations for state combinations
Use Home Assistant templating to display the correct image based on entity states
