2025 UCI Gravel World Championship M40-44 (some highlights in description)

Sorry for the rattling noise, guys! 🔊 My power bank wasn’t properly plugged in, which made the USB cover rattle. Everything was hanging underneath my handlebars, so I couldn’t see it during the race.

Because of that, I could only record for about 2 hours. Lesson learned for next time! 😅


UCI Gravel World Championship — Beek, South Limburg (NL) 🌍
First 60k of the race I’d been looking so hard forward to after I qualified myself for the worlds in Turnhout. Everything was on track until a virus hit me ten days before the start 🤒 A few days stuck in bed, a full week off the bike 🚫🚴, and then — with only a few days left — some short rides to see if I could still make it.

Before the start, I was honestly just happy to be there 🙌 After being sick, standing on that start line felt like a small victory in itself. The start actually went surprisingly well — probably pure adrenaline ⚡ — but pretty fast, reality kicked in. Burning lungs, a runny nose, and no air left. I pulled the plug around 86k. The body said no. 💀

Huge respect for all the riders from 53 different countries 🌎 — the level was insane, absolute beasts out there 💪

Now, looking back, the disappointment hits hard… but still, it’s an experience I’ll never forget ❤️‍🔥
