1995 Porsche 911 Carrera 993 RSR Restoration Project
The Limoncella Project is a documented restoration1995 Porsche 911 Carrera, model 993, which was completely rebuilt and returned to the road after being submerged for several years. The car was found in the Bisenzio River, near Florence, Italy, where it had been completely submerged for more than four years. It ended up there after a traffic accident and was never recovered or registered as an active vehicle. Its condition was extremely poor – the bodywork was covered in a thick layer of mud, the interior was damaged, the mechanics were faulty and there were traces of biological contamination.
The project was initiated by Paolo Iacometti , an enthusiast with many years of experience in classic cars. The original intention was to purchase the car as a source of spare parts, but during the initial cleaning, a factory code for a custom paint (Paint To Sample), a specific shade of yellow, was discovered. Research revealed that the vehicle had been commissioned by Italian fashion designer Enrico Coveri, which increased the car's value and historical significance.
