Now returning to the restoration video , I need to briefly tell you some details about the restoration project. After disassembling this old scale, I was able to get an idea of how the restoration process would go. I restored all the cast iron parts , removed some sharp edges but kept all the cast markings. This time less is more and I wanted to preserve the authenticity of this scale because it is a fairly rare scale to find. Speaking of authenticity, I found some stamps based on this scale and in my restoration process I was willing to restore them as they were original. Continuing the restoration process, I tried to preserve the authenticity of the parts , even though some parts had to be purchased and others remade on a lathe. At the end of the restoration, I could tell that it was my most challenging restoration project so far. But I was happy to see the project through to the end and manage to restore this antique scale to its former glory.
